Artist's CommentsPeace, Peace is no more than a dream, As long as we don't fight, to achive it. One of the most recognised symbols of peace is the white dove carrying the olive branch. Its origins are from the story of noah and the ark. When the rains that flooded the earth stopped pouring down, Noah sent out various birds to see if they would bring back any sign of land to his boat. He was anxious to begin life again on dry pasturage. One dove eventually returned carrying an olive branch. Since then, we see the white dove as a symbol that the war has ended. The problem is that there are too many things we put in its path. We must clear the way for the dove, for peace. Amen. This was taken on the streets of Jaffa, where Jews and Arabs live together. A symbol? I'm not so sure. I found it Ironic, that the graffiti of the dove, was found locked behind bars, escaping the rust time leaves behind. Will peace find the way? |
