Stepping into the light by gilad Stepping into the light by gilad

Out of this world
Out of your mind
Fading to white
Stepping into the light

Stepping into the light
Stepping into the silence,
Beyond traffic and the city crowd
Beyond reality and your own state of mind

Where the void is profound and silence is loud
You hear secrets speaking inside of you
Memory erased you are starting from scratch
Stepped into the light and out of your mind

****

Jaffa, Israel. On Jerusalem street.
Usually this path is full of people and objects (bikes, and motorcycles) but I was lucky enough to find it optimal for this kind of shot.
I waited for a few minutes to find a single person to walk directly in the middle and allow a perfect combination of prespective and minimalism.
I'm very happy with the resault.

Camera = Nikon D70
Lens = Nikon 28-70mm
Focal Length = 55mm

"sometimes i wonder if everything has a sound,
and if it does, what shape does the silence have?
...even if the silence walks with me, no one can
hear it."--- kinky
this shot reminds me of that song.

Really strong piece you have; the sharp use of lines and repetitions. The lighting gives off a nice radiance to the image- that warm feeling. I love the bar to the left which serves as a juxtaposition to the curves of the building. Again, the one foot up with those caught-in-mid-air captures are always priceless. :hug:

Fantastic use of minimalisation, AND detail. the light works well as a halo. Was the pure brightness all in camera? Or was that a post production effect?

I also love how symetrical and angular it is. And all the lings appear to be perfectly verticle with no alteration to the perspective And from a slightly slower (or regular tripod hight) I would have thought it would be almost impossible to get the tops of the pillars without some distortion (or lens sliding)

Great stuff!

I take it from the other comments that the mysterious object floating in midair on the right side is afterall the handle of a glass door through which the photo was taken?

i must be frank. your pictures are not bad but not enough for me to add as favs. but everytime i read the stanzas below, i feel so touched and the pictures become so alive then i have to list it as one of my favs. :)

i sense spiritual implication in your poems. am i right? whatever it is, they never fail to touch me.
