The picture was taken on the banks of the lake in Udaipur,
The lake have dried up from five years without monsoon, leaving the walls, of what use to be the banks of the lake, all bare in the sun.

It looks like it's a motif from an egyptian "a day in the life of..." painting, depicting common working class activities. Looks very familiar. I don't understand the description to this though. This wall and stairway was under water?
