Well, Photography is my best friend, And my Nature's gold of photography, must be a beautiful butterfly. Nature's noble creature, flying around in all it's beauty. With the beautiful colors, shapes, patterns. Like drawn in the muse of a mater artist. 24,000 Specimens, but all are different and unique. Just so you'll know  Butterflies range in size from a tiny 1/8 inch to a huge almost 12 inches. Butterflies can see red, green, and yellow. Some people say that when the black bands on the Woolybear caterpillar are wide, a cold winter is coming. The top butterfly flight speed is 12 miles per hour. Some moths can fly 25 miles per hour! Butterflies cannot fly if their body temperature is less than 86 degrees. There are about 24,000 species of butterflies. The Brimstone butterfly (Gonepterix rhamni) has the longest lifetime of the adult butterflies: 9-10 months. The females of some moth species lack wings, all they can do to move is crawl. Many butterflies can taste with their feet to find out whether the leaf they sit on is good or not. The most frequently named bugs from the Bible are: Locust: 24, Moth: 11, Grasshopper: 10, Scorpion: 10, Caterpillar: 9, and Bee: 4. Many insects can carry 50 times their own body weight. This would be like an adult person lifting two heavy cars full of people. Butterflies and insects have their skeletons on the outside of their bodies, called the exoskeleton. This protects the insect and keeps water inside their bodies so they don’t dry out. I guess you have to eat shit to appreciate beauty... I took the picture in a park called "Park Hayarkon" near the Yarkon rive, in Tel-Aviv (Israel). I used the Nikkor 105mm f2.8 AF Micro lens, with Kenko 3 extention tubes (that allow me to get much closer). I closed the aperture to F14 so I can get more in focus. I used the SB800 extarnal flash in -2 under exposure for fill light, cause I wanted the original colors to keep their warmth. What else.. well, no PS.. I hope you engoy our nature, It doesn't get any better. G |
