The ones of Israel bring me like like it was yesterday
not 1972 when I lived on Kibbutz Ramat HaShofet
The photos of the soldiers make me give thanks
for all they give up to keep Israel safe.
Some make me wish I was younger, now that I am
many decades out and still living there.
I miss and love Israel from a spot deeper than my heart or soul
and with a reason that can not be explained as a non jew.
This picture captured me, and holds me deep as
my Bengal Leo sits beside me.
